The positioning in SDG 13 (Climate Action) reinforces the commitment outlined in the Blue Route , the path by which the Tec aspires to become a model institution around sustainability.
According to the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ranking, which evaluates the progress of universities in relation to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN 2030 agenda , Tecnológico de Monterrey was placed first in Mexico and Latin America, for its contribution to SDG 13 (Climate Action).
In 2015, the United Nations General Assembly Chinese American Phone Number List established an agenda to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. At this meeting, world leaders agreed that this initiative would be divided into 17 major areas, including: end of poverty, zero hunger, health and well-being, quality education, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, sustainable cities and communities and life of terrestrial ecosystems.
For this reason, and in order to provide timely follow-up to the actions in favor of these Objectives, THE Impact Ranking convened different universities around the world. For the fourth edition of this ranking, the participation of 1,406 universities from 106 countries/regions was achieved. THE Impact Ranking includes metrics based on the 17 UN SDGs in four areas: research, administration, outreach and teaching. Universities can submit data for the SDGs they wish, however, 17 (Partnerships to achieve Goals) is mandatory for inclusion in the general table.
In the specific case of Climate Action (SDG 13), Tec de Monterrey stands out in the following areas, increasing 10.7 percentage points compared to the previous year, placing it as the number 1 university in Mexico and Latin America, as well as number 51 in 674 globally:
For Inés Sáenz, vice president of Inclusion, Social Impact and Sustainability at Tec, being among the best universities worldwide in sustainability issues, confirms Tec's commitment to the environment and its community. “It requires a systemic, clear and focused effort that drives us to change. As an academic institution, we want to raise awareness and act based on the objective of thinking about sustainability as our common good,” she commented.

A university's final score in the overall THE Impact Ranking table is calculated by combining its SDG 17 score with its three highest scores from the remaining 16 SDGs. Goal 17 represents 22% of the overall score, while the other SDGs have a weight of 26% each. This means that different universities are rated based on a different set of SDGs, depending on their approach.
This year, the Tec again places itself in the 101-200 range, with a score of 87.7 out of 100, this represents 4.5 points more than 2021, when a score of 83.2 was obtained.
In Latin America, Tec de Monterrey occupies one of the first 3 positions in 6 Sustainable Development Goals evaluated by THE Impact Ranking.
